Liposuction for men
Liposuction is cosmetic surgery used to permanently remove fat deposits. A lasting cosmetic effect can be achieved as long as the patient maintains their weight and does not put on more weight. I use the vibration method – the inserted cannula is vibrated thus destroying the membranes of the fat cells and the suction is smoother.
What does the surgery involve?
Liposuction can be performed with local anaesthetic. It is important, that no more than 1,500 to 2,000 ml are removed. If it is necessary to remove more fat tissue, a stay in the clinic for one to two days is advised.
The cannula insertion incisions are small and unobtrusive. Liposuction can be performed on all regions of the body. The most common areas are abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks and face/neck.
What happens after surgery?
After the operation, a compression corset has to be worn for 3-4 weeks. We also administer heparin derivates to prevent thrombosis or embolism. Regular checks are necessary.
My patients always describe the pain afterward as being like having sore muscles. They advise walking around in the first few days.
