Eyelid surgery for men

CORRECTION OF THE UPPER EYELID

This operation is a surgical procedure performed with local anaesthetic to remove excess skin from the upper eyelids. An additional sedative is possible (half-sleep).

In the pre-operation consultation it will be clarified if a forehead lift is also necessary to bring the eyebrow back into its original position to achieve best results.

CORRECTION OF LOWER EYELIDS –„LACHRYMAL SACKS”

This operation is a surgical procedure that reduces the bagginess of the lower eyelids.

What does the surgery involve?

This is a very delicate operation, since a removal of too much skin can result in a watery eye. Only an experienced surgeon should perform this procedure.

It can be performed with local anaesthetic with an additional sedative (half sleep) if requested. It will take about 30-45 minutes – if both eyelids are done in parallel, it will take 1,5 hours.

What happens after surgery?

After the operation, a treatment with cold compresses supports the healing process and helps to reduce the swelling of the area. The sutures will be removed after 2-3 days. Further treatment will be discussed individually with the doctor. It will take about 7 days to recover.
